Northeast Texas Bible Institute

The Rehoboth Baptist Association, under the direction of its Ministry Team, uses the courses and materials offered by Seminary Extension as a resource to encourage, equip, and strengthen its member churches in the areas of spiritual growth and Christian ministry. The RBA is certified as a Seminary Extension study center under the moniker Northeast Texas Bible Institute (NTBI). Seminary Extension classes have been offered through NTBI at various intervals for over 50 years.

Prospective Students

This program is primarily intended for men and women who are affiliated with the member churches of our association. However, outside students may be admitted into classes that have otherwise not reached maximum enrollment capacity. Seminary Extension classes are offered with a wide range of students in mind:

• Pastors/Ministry Staff (or those who aspire to be pastors) for whom traditional avenues of theological education are not feasible.
• Pastors/Ministry Staff with formal theological education who want a refresher.
• Those who serve as lay leaders and/or Bible teachers in their respective churches.
• Anyone who desires to grow in knowledge and understanding of the Bible.

Programs and Courses

Northeast Texas Bible Institute currently offers two different programs of study. The Diploma in Biblical Studies consists of 16 courses over four years, and the Certificate in Ministry consists of 8 courses over four years. Individual courses may also be taken without committing to an entire program of study.

All courses are undergraduate level and are provided through Seminary Extension, which is authorized for operation as a post-secondary educational institution by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC).

Admission

Seminary Extension admits students who are 16 years old and above. However, to earn transferable credit or enroll in a program, students must have earned a high school diploma or GED prior to enrollment in the class.

Fall 2026

Year One Courses

Classes will meet on Mondays at the RBA Office beginning on August 17, 2026.

Year Two Courses

Classes will meet on Mondays at the RBA Office beginning on August 17, 2026.

Costs

Students from RBA Churches

• 3 Credit Hour Courses = Free*
• 2 Credit Hour Courses = Free*

Students from Non-RBA Churches

• 3 Credit Hour Courses = $200.00
• 2 Credit Hour Courses = $150.00

*Students from RBA churches are eligible to receive scholarships, which are made possible through the generous financial support of our member churches. Students who do not complete the courses for which they have received a scholarship will forfeit their eligibility to receive future scholarships and will be required to pay the Non-RBA rate for any future courses in which they enroll.

Credit Transfer

While a number of colleges and institutions have previously accepted and continue to accept Seminary Extension course credits, the transfer of credits earned through this program to another educational institution is not guaranteed. Students interested in transferring credit hours should check with the receiving institution directly to determine to what extent, if any, credit hours may be transferred.
